Will Australian win?

Australia is about to find out if it can win a two year seat on the United Nations Security Council.

Luxembourg and Finland is also on the race but there are only two vacant spots available.

Australia spent A$25 million on this campaign.

We will find out tonight.

Commemorating the 68th Leyte Gulf Landings in Australia

The 68th Leyte Gulf Landings will be commemorated on 21 October 2012 at Queensland, Australia.

Spearheading the preparations of this commemoration is Mauro Somodio of Filipino Australian Foundation of Queensland Inc (FAFQ Inc.) and  supported by Ronaldo Villaver of Australian Visayan Multicultural Communities and the Brisbane City Council.

Heading the list of guests is the Executive Officer of MacArthur Museum, Brisbane, Queensland. There will be film showing and family picnic, among other activities.

The commemoration will be held at Philippine Multipurpose Centre, 45 Barham Street (Beryl Roberts Park), Coopers Plains, Queensland.

This event is supported by Leyte Governor Jericho Petilla and Palo Municipal Mayor Remedios Petilla. The MacArthur Shrine in the Philippines is located in Palo, Leyte.
